Volunteer with a Local Resettlement Agency

Local resettlement agencies have volunteer opportunities ranging from front desk help support to English language instruction. Check out some of the opportunities below or contact us at info@rcusa.org and we’ll help to connect you.

Community Sponsorship

As a community sponsor, you can partner with your local resettlement agency to greet a refugee family at their airport, assist them in securing and furnishing initial housing, connect them with local services, and show them all of the things that make your community so special.

    Remote Opportunities

    At the Agency for New Americans, community sponsors are matched with newly arrived refugees, Special Immigrant Visa holders, and asylees, to celebrate holidays and explore the community. The organization also offers remote sponsorship opportunities to sponsors outside the organization’s resettlement area.

    Bridge has had a community sponsorship program since its opening in 1996. The organization’s goal is to provide every arriving refugee family with a sponsor, known by the agency as Community Assistance Teams. Community Assistance Teams work with refugee arrivals in order to help them transition to their new communities and achieve self-sufficiency as quickly as possible, and Teams benefit from building long-term relationships with refugee families and other members of their community, as well as strengthening their group dynamics.
