International Engagement

  • The International Refugee Integration and Settlement Exchange (IRISE)

    IRISE is a civil society initiative that fosters connections and collaboration across international borders involved in supporting refugee resettlement and integration.

  • Consultations on Resettlement and Complimentary Pathways (CRCP)

    Every year, RCUSA joins the Annual CRCP in Geneva.

Integration

  • Integration Outcomes for Forcibly Displaced Persons (FDPs)

    This report extensively examines the wide range of indicators that capture the full human experience and why it is crucial to center the voices, feedback, guidance, and leadership of those with lived experience in forced displacement. Engaging immigrants in defining integration will not only help forcibly displaced populations successfully integrate into communities across the country but will also strengthen our communities and build a better and more prosperous future for all.

  • Charting a Course to Rebuild and Strengthen the US Refugee Admissions Program

    This report finds that USRAP serves important purposes, enjoys extensive community support, and offers a variety of effective services. Overall, the survey finds a high degree of consensus on the US resettlement program’s strengths and objectives, and close alignment between its services and the needs of refugees at different stages of their settlement and integration.

  • Refugee Integration Self-Assessment Pilot Participants (RISAP)

    Report will be released in October, 2025.

Refugee Leadership

  • Advocacy Days

    Throughout the years, RCUSA’s Advocacy Days have prioritized centering advocates with lived experience in forced displacement to establish and build relationships with key congressional offices. Participants utilize the week to galvanize and activate bipartisan support for refugee, asylum, and humanitarian programs, to lay the foundation for directly impacted leaders to advocate in their own communities and ensure a meaningful opportunity for diverse constituents’ voices to be heard by their elected leaders.

  • National Refugee Leadership and Lived Experience Council (NRLLEC)

    NRLLEC is a federal initiative of the Department of Health & Human Services’ Office of
    Refugee Resettlement, and is led in partnership with Refugee Council USA, Refugee Congress, Every Campus a Refuge, Church World Service, and USAHello. The program will provide individuals with lived displacement experience the opportunity to directly impact ORR’s future policy planning while receiving access to a range of professional development opportunities.

  • US Refugee Advisory Board (USRAB)

    USRAB was launched in partnership with Refugee Congress and Georgetown University’s Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM). USRAB serves to channel the participation of current and former forcibly displaced populations in the U.S. to relevant regional and international policy bodies, thus providing a mechanism to ensure there is meaningful engagement in policies affecting them.

  • Refugee Storytellers Collective

    The Refugee Storytellers Collective includes individuals from across the U.S. with lived expertise in forced displacement share their stories and perspectives, speaking to the challenges refugees and asylum seekers face and the contributions they make to our society.
