RCUSA Welcomes Mariam Sayeed as Program Associate

Washington, DC – Refugee Council USA is pleased to announce that Mariam Sayeed has joined its staff as Program Associate. Prior to joining RCUSA, Mariam served as a Criminal Justice Fellow with US Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui, developing post-release programming for formerly incarcerated individuals. She previously served as Compliance Project Associate with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), where she led accountability and reporting efforts for the resettlement of Afghan evacuees and documented the operations of the Afghan emergency response team under the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). Mariam has a master’s degree in Public Policy from the Gerald R. Ford school of Public Policy at the University of Michigan, where she concentrated on migration policy and criminal justice reform.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Mariam Sayeed to the staff of Refugee Council USA,” says Executive Director John Slocum. “She brings great experience and expertise to the team and Mariam will play a crucial role in serving RCUSA’s growing membership.”
