Take Action: Urge Your Members of Congress Reject Additional Funding for Harmful Immigration Enforcement for ICE and CBP
Right now, Congressional Republicans are preparing a “budget reconciliation” bill to provide tens of billions of additional dollars for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol. At the same time, Congress may be voting soon on legislation to fund all aspects of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) except for ICE and Border Patrol; however the reopening of DHS is conditioned on the budget reconciliation progress.
Any additional funding for ICE and Border Patrol is on top of the $170 billion they already received through last year’s budget reconciliation process, the so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” Act, to execute the administration’s mass detention and deportation efforts. ICE and Border Patrol are already over-funded – and without the meaningful safeguards to rein in their abuses.
Urge Congress to refuse to provide one more dollar to ICE and the Border Patrol through the reconciliation process. Instead, they should enact transformational policies that end DHS’s unaccountable – and increasingly violent – campaign of enforcement, deadly force, detention, and mass deportation.
