National resettlement organizations to Biden: protect vulnerable Afghans
Washington, DC – Refugee Council members involved in direct support to refugee and displaced populations, including the national resettlement agencies, sent a letter to President Biden, impressing upon him the urgency needed to protect vulnerable Afghans. Organization executives emphasized that the US has the resources, systems, support, and will in place to effectively welcome those facing danger in Afghanistan, lacking only the support of the President.
RCUSA is a diverse coalition advocating for just and humane laws and policies, and the promotion of dialogue and communication among government, civil society, and those who need protection and welcome. Individual RCUSA members do not all address all refugee-related issues, nor do all individual members approach all refugee-related issues identically.
