Washington, DC — Refugee Council USA is pleased to announce that after a rigorous search, the Board of Directors has named Adam Hunter Executive Director. He begins his new role today. Adam brings with him more than 15 years’ experience on migration and refugee issues through positions in government, foundations, think tanks, and fellowships. A skilled strategist and policy leader, Adam engages with a research lens, collaborative spirit, and wide networks to bolster RCUSA’s important work and committed membership coalition.

Scott Roehm, RCUSA board chair and Washington Director for the Center for Victims of Torture, shared: “On behalf of RCUSA’s board we are thrilled to welcome Adam to RCUSA. He has already demonstrated his enthusiasm and vision to help drive RCUSA into a bold new era.”

Danielle Grigsby, who will take on the new role of Director of Policy and Practice, remarked: “It has been an honor to serve as interim director, and I look forward to this new chapter of my work with RCUSA. We are delighted to welcome Adam to the team, and anticipate a courageous and innovative future with his support and leadership.”

Adam noted, “We are in uncertain times. In the midst of a global pandemic, we face an Administration hostile to our mission and long-overdue societal reckoning on racial injustice. RCUSA has the purpose, values, and membership to influence how we emerge from this period. It is an honor for me to lead RCUSA as we strive to reimagine our practice and foster welcoming and equitable communities. I am grateful to join RCUSA’s dedicated staff and coalition and look forward to getting to work.”
